
The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned Abiola Odutayo in reference to the d3ath of Adetunji Opayele, co-founder of Bumpa, popularly referred to as Teejay.
The police confirmed that Odutayo was arraigned on March 12, 2025, at Courtroom 1, Tinubu, after being discharged from the hospital. She faces fees of reckless and careless driving on a public freeway, resulting in the demise of Opayele.

“We are able to verify that following an intensive investigation, Abiola Odutayo ‘f’ was arraigned in Courtroom 1, Tinubu on March 12, 2025, after she was discharged from hospital, for driving on a ‘public freeway in a reckless and careless method with out due care and a spotlight to different street customers and caus[ing] the demise of 1 Tunji Opayele ‘m’ aged 32 and thereby dedicated an offence…’
“The court docket granted her bail and adjourned the case until April 16, 2025. The Lagos State Police Command stays dedicated to transparency, equity, and justice.”
