NewsOnline Nigeria stories that the operatives of the Financial and Monetary Crimes Fee (EFCC) on Thursday grilled a former Minister for Girls Affairs, Uju Kennedy Ohanenye.
The minister, who was sacked by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was questioned over her alleged roles in misappropriation, violation of the procurement course of and diversion of public funds to the tune of N138, 413, 253.89 (One Hundred and Eighty Eight Million, 4 Hundred and 13 Thousand, Two Hundred and Fifty Three Naira, Eight 9 Kobo) in the middle of disbursing the 2023 budgeted funds for the Ministry.
In accordance with the New Telegraph, Kennedy-Ohanenye arrived on the Fee headquarters round 11:00 am on Thursday and is dealing with interrogators on her alleged involvement within the fraud.
Investigations by the EFCC confirmed that funds donated for the funding of P-Bat Cares for Girls Initiative had been diverted for her self-enrichment.
Investigations are nonetheless ongoing. She has not been admitted to administrative bail.
